York brought a much changed and stronger side to a wet soggy Rudding Lane on a day where conditions made flowing rugby difficult.
A strong start saw Callum Cardwell charge down a clearance kick and beat the cover to the ball 5 v 0
The game settled down with a prolonged passage of even play before Paddy Hebblethwaite latched onto a good move to finish off a well worked move 12 v 0.
Another well worked move saw the backs create space for Greg Aspin to show strength in powering over and a 17 v 0 lead which ended the scoring in the first half.
The Georgians were always looking to play expansive rugby yet were made to work really hard by a determined York side who kept up the pressure throughout but the edge in cohesiveness proved decisive when Paddy Hebblethwaite interlinked smartly down the blind side to score his second try and extend the lead to 22 v 0
Luke Riddell then showed real pace and determination to score the fifth try and adding the extras and 29 v 0.
Jack Starkey who had a superb game all round then finished off the scoring showing speed and determination to score the sixth and final try and a score of 36 v 0.
Some areas to improve upon of course but great work rate especially in defence and a well worked 5 point win against a decent York side who kept going throughout and made us work hard.
