Harrogate are looking to sign off 2016 with a win when Tynedale are the visitors to Rudding Lane this Saturday 17th December.Kick Off is 2pm.A great afternoon of rugby is in prospect with Tynedale Raiders kicking off at 1pm against the Georgians in the RFU North 2nd Team League.
Gate disappointed at Otley last week in losing 26-15 despite the try count being 2 each. However home form has improved dramatically since the beginning of the season with 3 of the last 4 home games being won.Player coach David Doherty,a late withdrawal last Saturday because of the arrival of his new baby daughter, returns to the backline although last week's starting hooker Tom Larder sustained a nasty mouth injury at Otley which will keep him sidelined for a couple of months.
Tynedale won the clash at Corbridge back in September by 20 points to 16 in a game that Harrogate could well have succeeded in,and have shown good form of late although they were edged out narrowly last weekend at home to Stourbridge.Nevertheless they sit comfortably in 8th place in the table and will be formidable opponents and are likely to include former Gate backrower Scott Powell in their starting line up.
An absorbing contest is in prospect and vital league points are on offer.A win could well lift Gate out of the dreaded bottom three and be a welcome respite for the Christmas break. Please be there and cheer the boys on for a win that they will give their all to achieve.
