Dominant display earns bonus point win
Yarnbury yet again proved determined opponents and made the Georgians earn this victory in a great display of focus and concentration allied to power and pace.
For the first 20 mins Yarnbury dominated possession and threw wave after wave of attacks at the Georgians defense which time and again drove them back. If possession in the first quarter was limited then the scrum was totally dominant, debutant Mike McDonnald Tom Young & Matt Harris destroying the Yarmbury scrum time and again giving the Yarnbury 8 & 9 all manner of problems.
From the first real attack the Georgians forced a penalty and kicked into the corner took a lineout 5m out and a perfectly executed catch and drive saw Tom Young score Hampo adding the extras 7 v 0
Man of the match and skipper Matt Lansdall then hit a great line to break the defence and score out wide after good team linking play 12 v 0.
A quickly taken penalty followed by seven composed phases saw Mike McDonnald score a well taken try 17 v 0 and the Half Time score.
The second half was a much more one sided affair with the Georgians totally dominating for much of the half this half which saw Paddy Hebblethwaite score 3 almost identical tries where the rampant gate scrum drove the Yarnbury pack back over the try line for Paddy to snaffle the try as the ball crossed the whitewash 36 v 0
Luke Riddell ended the home scoring and added the extras and a 43 v 0 lead.
Fair play to Yarnbury as they kept going till the very end and as injury time ended scored a deserved try to end the match 43 v 5.
Great performance and result against a good set of lads who were just overpowered on the day by a well drilled Georgians side.
