Georgians Gain revenge against Morley
The Georgians showed strength and determination to overcome a determined Morley side on a glue pot of a pitch on a beautiful sunny day (remember them ?)
A strong start say the Georgians win what was the first of a number of penalties and a kick to the corner saw another well executed catch and drive with Weezy scoring and with Cail adding the extras for a 7 v 0 early lead.
Liam Hucknall ended up finishing off a great team move by charging over from 20 metres after eight phases of play between both backs and forwards and a lead of 14 v 0.
Morley made th Georgians work hard all through the game and had a big strong pack who had a very direct style, at one point they bizarrely conceeded a penalty for not throwing straight at the lineout, a decision that had both teams and coaches scratching their heads but enabled Gate to edge further ahead at 17 v 0.
Morley were eventually rewarded for their pressure with a penalty and the half time score of 17 v 3.
The next 15 mins saw the Georgians spread the ball wide Connor Miller outpacing his opposite number before offloading to Joe Green to score a superb try and 22 v 3 lead.
As the conditions got heavier Morley's persistence and dogged attitude saw them take the lions share of possession only to be met with ferocious defence time and again driving them back.
The Georgians spurned a couple of exellent try scoring opportunities before Morley were rewarded for their persistence by a late try and a final score 22 v 8.
Two teams making the best of a poor heavy pitch but looking to play whenever possible.
