The home team were generally bigger than the visitors and were very mobile and well drilled.
Although there were times when Harrogate enjoyed territorial advantage they also missed a number of tackles and thereby created opportunities for desperate defending.
Hal Butler and Lewis Minikin each pulled off notable try saving tackles.
Callum Irvine had another good game with some excellent kicking from hand.
Doncaster fielded some very fast running backs who cut through to score two tries.
Harrogate came close to scoring on a few occasions particularly when man of the match Cameron Roberts showed some fine dribbling skills but was unable to carry over the line.
Overall it was a decent game played in a good spirit at a great location.
