Harrogate vs Driffield

In the first half the two teams seemed fairly evenly matched. Perhaps as a result of the recent lack of match time the game was punctuated by errors particularly at the line outs and with the backs being offside.

Scott Stevenson had a fine match scoring two tries in each half before having to leave the field with a cut to his head. He showed fine running skills to cut through the Driffield defence on numerous occasions.

With hard ground and bright sunshine it was good to see plenty of running play and both sides tended to keep the ball in hand. Once again Callum Irvine played well and was successful with all three of his conversion attempts.

At half time Harrogate were leading by 14 - 0. In the second half playing downhill the home team cut loose scoring four tries all of which were converted by either Irvine or Cameron Roberts.

Aside from Stevenson, Harrogate's tries were scored by Conal Browne after some good forward play and by Matt Wood who showed his pace to cross the line.

Overall a good team performance in good conditions and a pleasing victory.
