Training put into practice

In perfect playing conditions, each of the three U9 teams (Lions, Tigers & Panthers) took it in turns to play both of the visiting Wharfedale teams. Of the six matched played, five were wins and one was drawn; however, more importantly was the spirit in which each of the matches were played. Every game was extremely competitively contested with both clubs playing some excellent rugby and demonstrating genuine sportsmanship throughout. Stand out tries from Pitch 1 were by Vincent C and Jacob G each showing the ability to rip the ball in the tackle and then score a breakaway try. The defensive work rate was outstanding and real progress is being made with rucking and mauling. We shall start looking at off-loading in the tackle and spreading the play wider in the coming weeks but really well done to all 26 players this weekend for a series of top draw performances.
Away at Pocklington this weekend where we can hopefully continue to build on the great progress being made.
