The remaining squad played Thirsk at Rudding Lane.
With one team away at Wharfedale Festival, it still left 21 players at Rudding Lane to play Thirsks travelling team.
The standard has soared since the beginning of the season and no player is avoiding contact and really getting stuck in.
Enthusiasm is high and the chance to try out some new skills on Thirsk, proved too good to miss. Having won all three matches it is still proving a challenge to persuade the children that it is the taking part that is important, not just the winning. Especially when the travelling squad came back from Wharfedale as Festival Champions!!
More training required on proactive defence and attack, but we are definitely going in the right direction. The 4 new players, including two more girls have fitted straight into the thick of things.
There is more space available in the U9's, if you know of a child that was inspired by the All Blacks or wants to improve Englands chances in 12yrs time, please do not hesitate to bring them down!
