Another long trip to Wensleydale was made worthwhile with some committed rugby by both teams, Wensleydale are a credit to their coaches and have given us some of the most brutal, fair and competitive rugby of this year. Sorry but can only give an opinion on the team I watched, over three matches we were unbeaten, it is difficult to pick people out because players are at different stages of their rugby career! A win comes from a team effort and everybody got involved, committed in the maul and at the breakdown, some good passing from open play gave success and some fantastic tries ultimately proved the difference. Barney "Spin" Horberry put in some great runs , tackles and tries, he must get that spin from his dad when it is his round at the bar, Freddie BB, excellent commitment, Felix always there, Toby, sniping from the scrum, Henry great try and tackling after a master class from his dad, Drew getting stuck in and making himself a real handful, Finn, some excellent runs and a couple of tries that his dad didn't see! The whole team, sorry can't remember everybody's name did Harrogate proud.
Another mention goes to Oliver Black for leading the way for Wensleydale by helping out with their numbers.
Special mention to Richmond RUFC stalwart Nigel for getting to Leyburn on time and loaning Finn to us, very kind.
To Wensleydale for playing excellent rugby and giving us a real challenge, just what is needed and their observation of the two minutes silence.
Lastly to Mr Garrett for letting Jacob play a girls sport with a stick today!!
