Excellent effort by the boys on Sunday in which we won two out of three games. Don't tell the RFU that I was counting the scores. The first game against Thirsk began in the rain, and it was soon raining tries. Good rucking meant we secured our own ball and also nicked theirs'. We eased off in the second half and let a few soft tries in, but the game was won in the first half as we built a commanding lead. It was still raining at the end of the game. Memories of the Darlington festival loomed large, but fortunately the weather eased.

Next up was York who took an early lead with some bruising forward play as our tackling technique seemed to be forgotten. Either side of half time a comeback looked to be on the cards, but then York re-took control and eased away. Too often we didn't carry the ball securely allowing York to nick it from us or hold us up in the tackle. We could have beaten them!

The final match was a very even game against Ripon contested in the middle of the pitch. Eddie and Matthew took the ball up well and a couple of breakaway tries proved to be good enough to win the match.

Thanks to the coaches as always. Lots to work on as the season continues, but making good progress.
