Sharks & Wasps Play Moortown Acorns Festival

Sharks: We need some practice at winning the toss as the Sharks played up hill from the deep end in all 3 games. Although a long haul to the late finish for both players and parents, the effort put in on the pitch was well worth the cleaning out of the car after depositing players back home. Sharks v West Leeds: Good focus and some excellent tackling throughout the team kept them out for the whole game. 3 tries made for a good win, but the defence was, as ever, the area which made the difference. Great effort. Sharks vs West Park and Huddersfield were hard fought but eventually went down narrowly (and we were playing up hill from the deep end). Lots of positives for all to take away, particularly defensively and some strong, well-executed tackles made across the whole side. Sharks Player of the Week & Man of Steel was James Wood for some particularly strong tackling throughout.

Wasps: Won one 2-1 and lost one 2-1. Tackling was a massive step change from last year and passing was good. Good day all round.
Man of Steel - Robert - worked hard in drills between games and took the ball and ran forward in the games and took the tackle to create the ruck. The progress and effort put in by all players bodes well for the rest of the season.
