Initial chat was focused on the need to be firm in the tackle and compete for the ball, remembering the competitive edge Sandal had in 2017/8
We played 2 Sandal sides and both games were played in the manor we had discussed at the outset. Tackling and rucking were particularly strong. with all players working hard to support their team mates and get involved, resulting in good ball retention and eventually some good scores. Of particular note were Freddie, Alex P and Rowen for their direct running and hard tackling, although all made critical tackles at key points in the games. As ever there are still a couple of areas we will need to work on, particularly lining up deeper when in possession, and spaceal awareness to move the ball wider more quickly. This should not detract from a strong all round performance. Great effort, it was very pleasing to watch.
