The Battle of Morley

A thoroughly entertaining mornings rugby with Harrogate ultimately coming from behind to win 10 - 5. Harrogate started strongly playing downhill in the first half. Pressure was quickly exerted on a strong Morley defence with Harrogate dominating the early exchanges. Morley forced themselves back into the the game and a see saw first half came to and end scoreless with great defence from both sides.
Harrogate had dominated in the scrum but ultimately gave away too many penalties in the loose. Highlights of the first half were a last ditch try saving tackle by Henry H and a solid performance from the forwards.
The 2nd half started in much the same manner with both sides competing strongly in all areas . Great work from Harry W and Jacob G in the loose backed up by a great performance from Will H who consistently tidied up at the loose and was solid in the scrum. Morley eventually broke through the Harrogate lines with a great individual try from one of their centres who ran two thirds of the length of the pitch after evading 3 Harrogate tacklers. Despite playing uphill Harrogate stuck to the task and were rewarded with 2 tries in the last quarter of the game coming from Harry W and Jack H.
Overall a great team performance with solid performances across the park, special mentions to Jacob G. Harry W Oli B and Will H in the forwards and Ben I, Henry H, George R and Jack H in the backs. The boys put in one hell of a shift, there are some things to be worked on in training but they can be proud of a sterling effort, well done.
