Another strong performance against a committed Morley side.

Another strong performance with the side growing in confidence and paying some gret rugby saw the 3's overcome a spirited Morley Development side.

A fast start saw the 3's score 3 quick tries into a strong wind at rudding lane Scott Irvine opening the scoring after a couple of minutes 5 v 0 from the restart great interplay betweeen backs and forwards, several phases created the space for the backs to exploit with James Bagnall taking the scoring pass to crash over out wide 10 v 0.

Danny Cooke then scored the first of what would be a hat trick of tries to open up a 15 v 0 lead, if there were any complacency starting to grow Morley knocked it out very determinedly and following a series of drives scored a well deserved try 15 v 7.

A penalty for a high leading arm reduced the deficit to 16 v 10 before another really good try for Morley saw them level the scores at 15 v 15 after 20 minutes.

The 3's responded with Danny Cooke getting his second before Paddy Hebblethwaite extended the lead to 27 v 15.

Danny Cooke baggged his third before the returning Miles Lloyd celebrated by getting on the score sheet with a try and eased out to 41 v 15 at half time.

Playing with the wind in the second half the 3's scored further tries by Scott Irvine 48 v 15

Jonny Giles making a welcome return after injury had a strong game in both attack and defence and scored a well worked try 55 v 20

Chris Wilson and Harvey Bateman added more scores and a final score of 69 v 15, a scoreline well deserved and some great rugby played against a game opponent who fought for every inch of the game.

The scrum was totally dominant with Tom, Steve & Will creating a secure platform, Rory & Pete providing power and Chris Scott & Fraser solid in defence and strong carrying.

Paddy and Miles were really effective at half backs controlling the game well, Jonny & Harvey in the centres always posing threats whilst the back three of Ben, Baggers and Cookie plus Olly when he came on were always dangerous with ball in hand.

Man of the match Scott Irvine

Brown Ale - Olly Myers & Rory Cardwell (Ollys attempted quick drop out only managed to hit Rory in the arse who then fell over!)

Champagne moment Danny Cooke for 3 tries

This 3rd team is now really showing the benefit of our senior squad all training together twice a week.
