U7 WORLD CUP

23 teams turned out for the U7 rugby world cup at Claro Road.Finally sporting our new shirts, Harrogate entered 5 teams, due to late withdrawals, giving more game time to all our players, possibly at the cost of team strength.

The loud cheer at the end emphasised the fantastic time that was had by all. A new format was devised to eliminate knock out stages, due to possible time restraints and weather forecast. This resulted in four pool winners and runners up. The overall winner being calculated by total league points divided by number of teams entered was awarded to Wetherby RUFC.

Special mentions to all parents who helped out and Danny Hill and Mike Wright who were preparing the pitch from 7am on the sunday!
No prizes for individuals as the effort was high by all. We will go away to concentrate on our defence as all our games were high scoring end to end entertainment, even when we had to play against ourselves!
