The tournament was well organised by Thirsk despite Charles the organiser suffering a severe broken leg in the run up and ran very smoothly.
With a slightly different format to the NYRFU World Cup held at Harrogate earlier in the season, all players involved were awarded well deserved medals, but no club was crowned champions. The format used at Harrogate would leave no doubt that with an unbeaten squad we can claim the champions podium.
Special mentions this week go to Josh and William who must have tagged almost all the players at the tournament between them! However, to single players out this weekend is an injustice to all those others whose teamwork helped Harrogate to stand out from all the clubs entered including York, Selby, Ripon, Richmond, Thisrk and Wensleydale.
Most importantly the whole event was a success for all involved and there were many beaming faces in the hailstorm at the end of the day.
Onto to our festival this weekend where all help is needed to make it as successful an event as last year for the hundereds of players, parents and supporters invovled. With current World Cup Champions Harrogate and previous winners Wetherby playing and sunshine forecast it has the potential for another fabulous weekend of rugby!
