With fantastic newly marked pitches causing problems with Yorks admin, it was left to Roundhegians and Harrogate to get the games underway. With each club fielding two teams a quick discussion led to a series of matches between the sides that showed how we have improved as the season has progressed. Despite tendancies to defend and attack alone some great teamwork was on show and significant improvement could be seen on the day.
After much coaxing a defensive line was clearly in operation by the end, which put paid to roundhegians easy acces to our lines. Suffice to say we had high scoring matches against all teams. However, it was not only our defence that improved. Although a number of tries were scored due to individual effort, there were also a few coach justifying moments, when following a series of passes tries were scored that involved the whole team.
Awesome effort by all in the autumn sun, eclipsing any thoughts of the forecasted hurricanes and rain.
A training week next week, allows our newly qualified level one coaches a chance to put in to practice their last three weeks of classroom learning!
