Winning ways at windy Wetherby.
It was not only Eddie (giant in his recent school play) that has made huge steps forward recently. Some supporters who hadn't seen the standards now set by the players, were keen to emphasise how much they have improved in the last few weeks.
The improvements were clear to see, with evidence of the passing and running lines easily apparent throughout all 24 players.
Not expecting such large numbers of opposition Wetherby had to improvise a fourth pitch at late notice, resulting in the games overunning until 12 o'clock.
Windy conditions hindered the work we had put into passing training recently. But a fantastic performance all round led to a mostly onesided contest against current world cup holders Wetherby.
Special mention on my pitch goes to a length of the pitch 'try' that involved all players handling the ball and a pass at full pace from Barney, caught by Toby to go over the line. As well as Luke's perseverance to keep up with play every time there was a line break, which finally paid off towards the end when he recieved the pass for another harrogate try.
More work on defence needed as ever, easily out weighed by plenty of positives.
