Hours of hardwork from the Wright brothers and assorted helpers paid off as hundreds of children enjoyed the last festival at Claro Road.
Thrown in at the deep end again the Sharks parents and coaches showed their survival skills again.
Four pitches laid out, teams selected, coaches and scorers briefed and we were soon into the thick of it.
We entered a team of varying abilities into each pool to give as many as possible a run and a chance of a good game. However, with visitors coming from as far as Kendal and Sheffield there were some very good players on show.
All our players enjoyed themselves, but struggled at first with the more stringent refing of the try scoring rule. However, they were soon scoring freely and some notable performances include Fraser's straight running and Angus's burst down the wing, not to mention his brothers fantastic team managers skills!!
The final was played between local rivals Sheffield and Sheffield Tigers, with school friends on both sides playing a very high standard of rugby. Tigers were victrorious, but the real success was the fun had by all involved from players to parents and coaches.
Thanks again to all parents who gave their sunday afternoon up to help out for the club, especially those who were still there long after their children had gone.
