12 teams in total competed for the cup in three pools.
Harrogate played and beat an aggressive Otley side in their first match by 2 try to 0, thanks to some determined tackling and a great score by Jonathan Ashman.
Next up they comprehensively beat a Wensleydale side 7 tries to 0. Some determined and organised forward play mixed in with some strong and determined backs running was enough to overwhelm the weaker Wensleydale.
The last pool match was against a large Wetherby side; again some good tackling and some incisive running from the backs led to another good victory 7 tries to 0.
As pool winners we had to play the best runners up which happened to be Otley! Another hard, bruising encounter ensued with some dubious refereeing decisions keeping Otley in the game. But again the determination and grit of the youngsters saw them through 1 try to 0.
The final against a much-favoured Sandal was next. Yet another physical but very fast game took place, the Harrogate youngsters unfortunately never looked like taking control and possession was sparse. Refereeing frustrations again crept into the game, however the Sandal side deservedly ran out 2 tries to 0 winners despite an almighty effort from the Harrogate forwards to tackle and ruck to regain what little possession they could.
This was another strong team effort throughout the cup from the Harrogate side, with some notable efforts in the forwards by Jacques Haddleton, and strong tackling and running by Jonathon Ashman and Angus Reid.
They were presented with their runners up medals during the half-time break between Leeds Carnegie vs Gloucester Premiership League encounter.
