The score doesn't justify it!

Whilst Ilkley where more physical at the breakdown we have five new caps in the squad today and Harry C had a superb game which deserves the man of the match award, very strong at 15 and caught everything cleanly then set off on some great runs. He even broke through on one run which would have been a try had the ref not pulled him back for an injury which was being dealt with, this would have levelled the scores which would have been a fair end. Some strong running for last weeks MOM Jack Barthorpe and the usual assured tackling. It is early days for the squad and whilst we lost today the team are starting to gel together especially as we had some new combinations in key areas. Ilkley scored at the end after we went down to 14 men following a yellow card for kicking the ball away through frustration. We cannot take it away from Ilkley who played more aggressively in the pack and whilst our scrum was solid and pushed them off the ball we lost in the line out due to height. The backs played some great moves and got the ball moving but needed to be quicker in defence and make sure the tackles counted. Well done to the new players today.
