Dear All,
We’re in a betwixt and between situation regarding last season’s HRUFC position and our new Constitution, which was unanimously put into being at the 13th Sept 2021 SGM. This means that the planned 29th June 2022 AGM is no longer appropriate. Instead of an AGM, we will now hold a Members’ Meeting at which the current situation will be explained in detail. At this meeting we will have to formally elect the Directors of our new Constitution, Harrogate RUFC Ltd. This title has already been submitted and approved by the Charity Commission.
The current Directors of the Charity, approved by the Charity Commission, are our old set-up’s Club Officers, Iain Salkeld, Bill Barrack and David Thompson. Iain’s resignation as Chairman means that we will designate Mark Garrett, our Chairman elect, to take his place and we also wish to elect Martin Corbett as an additional Director.
At this week’s final meeting of last season’s Committee (on Wednesday 15th June), it will be decided if we want to make any further changes to next Season’s Committee and, if we do, this will be another item for our AGM which will now be held on Wednesday 7th September 2022. This date is just less than a year from the 2021 SGM when our new Constitution was approved and will give everybody the opportunity to pay (or have paid), their 2022/23 subscriptions and enable them to vote.
Regards,
Bill Barrack
Hon. Sec.
