Great to get the season off and running with a 5 point win. We can be proud of how we finished the game. Scoring down their end then defending up at ours.

We played into Otleys hands plenty of times throughout the game by giving them transition opportunities. when this happened they punished us more often than not.

Congratulations to debutants Sam Parsons-Bastiman and Miles Tiernan, both came through the mini and juniors and I am excited to see what they can put into the shirt over the coming years.

Angus Wilson sustained a nasty injury to his lower leg and went to hospital. He is now back home and awaiting the next part of his treatment. He will be hugely missed while he is on the sidelines. He is an impressive bloke, the kind who just gets on with it no matter what’s put infront of him. I know he will do the same with this injury.

Next week we have our first home game of the season against Billingham. We will be looking for a much improved performance on our first outing on Rudding lane.
