Large squads for both sides were present today, which hopefully bodes well for the season and the competitiveness for places and the league positions.
The weather was warm with a breeze blowing across the pitch and made for a great day for playing rugby. The game was to be played over three twenty minutes periods to allow the players plenty of rotation and the Coaches to try different combinations and get a feel for their squads in a competitive environment.
Yarmbury with their strong pack looked to play it short and attack space at the ruck where possible. Harrogate looked to play wide wherever possible, which allowed the game to switch back and forth between the two teams and periods of dominance.
Both sets of Coaches can be very positive from today's performances and hopeful about the forthcoming season.
Thank you to Yarmbury for making the journey and their contribution to an entertaining game played in a great spirit.
