Harrogate Women played their first home league fixture of the season, hosting Carlisle Cougars.
The rain started as soon as the warm up did, not letting up for the whole match.
Harrogate held dominant for the first thirty minutes, almost entirely in Carlisle's half, with some determined line breaks.
Unfortunately, Carlisle were a strong opposition, scoring twice in the first half in succession. Harrogate fought back in the second half, seeing a try from prop, Jaydn Plummer - successfully converted by Em Atwood. This followed with a try from Georgina 'G' Youlden and unfortunately a few tries scored by Carlisle.
The conditions were gruelling and forced some errors, but the rugby played was great, with constant hard work fighting for possession and determination in defence. A newly re-formed team, and supported by our friends at York Uni, did the club proud with the skills and rugby played.
