The 2014 U12's tour started off with a game against Kirkby Lonsdale and after a 90 minute coach journey the lads were in high spirits and ready to play rugby.

As soon as the game started it was clear that Harrogate meant business and despite playing a much bigger team the lads showing real focus and commitment to win. The team played some fantastic rugby and the tackling was superb.

Unfortunately against the run of play Kirkby scored first.This was a blow to the lads but they showed great character to keep the pressure on the opposition. Eventually the effort paid off when man of the match Rory forced himself over the try line to equalise.

This score gave the team a noticeable boost and it became increasingly clear that Kirkby were struggling to hold Harrogate. Eventually the hard work paid off when Connor crashed over the try line to earn the team a well deserved victory.

What a great start to the tour!

A big thank you to Kirkby for being great hosts and for feeding the lads afterwards. A special mention must go to the amazing pasties served from the mobile food hut -superb !
