On a sunny Sunday morning Harrogate hosted a touring side from Marple near Stockport. As soon as the game started the forwards dominated play and created good possession for the backs. The first try came after quick ball from Ollie Bennett reached Jack Whiting and in turn Josh Pomfret who set up Harry Wilkinson who drew has man and passed to Alastair Holloway who was too fast for the opposition and opened the scoring in the corner.

Strong forward play from Tom Morley and Evan Jones combined with excellent running and off loading from Will Tomalin , Joe Nichols , Connor Spence and Ollie Bryant piled pressure on Marple.Again the forwards created quality ball for the backs and quick passing between Jack and Josh set up Harry Wilkinson for the second try.

Against the run of play Marple scored but their celebrations were short lived when man of the match Joe Nichols scored a hat-trick of tries and further scores from both Connor and Josh helped heap more misery on the tourists.

Harry Wilson showed us his explosive pace on a number of occasions causing real problems for Marple and full back Jonty was solid when the team needed him. Tylo again showed his potential.

This was a great all round team performance and many parents in the clubhouse after the game commented on the huge improvement since the start of the season.
